Engr. Augustine C. Emelobe is a 1986 first class graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of Benin, Benin City with various certificates in Computer design, engineering design and Project management. He attended several leadership trainings at the Southern Methodist University (SMU), Dallas, USA. He has 28 years’ of technical experience in the oil and gas exploration and production industry.

He joined Chevron Nigeria limited in 1990 as a Design & Construction (D&C) engineer after four (4) years with National Fertilizer Company (NAFCON) in Onne as a Process engineer. On progressing in his working career, he worked with Chevron USA (GOMBU) in New Orleans for 2 years as Facilities engineer & Corrosion engineer. He has headed various departments of Chevron Nigeria Limited rising through positions such as Corrosion engineer, Lead facilities engineer, Staff Facilities Engineer, Onshore Operations Superintendent, Construction superintendent, Terminal Superintendent (Downstream Operations Management), Operations Manager, General Manager JV operations, and General Manager – Facilities Engineering and Major Capital Projects. His management and field experience encompasses working as CNL representative representing CNL, FE & MCP at NNPC (NAPIMS) technical committee meetings.

He led several annual work program presentations to DPR and as well led the National Content implementation. Among the many projects and programs he piloted are: project management of engineering design activities, coordinating all construction activities in TOPCON eastern, western (swamp) and offshore operational areas as construction superintendent, managing entire Chevron Nigeria joint venture operations in Escravos during the Niger Delta crisis and Eastern production processed through SPDC facilities in Bonny Island.                                                     

He managed and controlled all capital and operational expenditure estimated at US$670M per annum. As General Manager, Facilities Engineering and Major Capital Projects, he manages all base business facilities, major capital project and deep water projects within Nigeria and Mid Africa Business unit with an annual budget of US$1.9Billion.

For his high performance, he won the Chevron corporate chairman’s award for superior performance and engagement in 2007 (this being the highest award in Chevron Nigeria Limited).

He is a COREN registered engineering, a member of NSE and NSChE as well as NACE in USA. He has presented technical papers at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers annual lectures.
